2026 IANS Scholarships
The Iowa Association of Nursing Students is pleased to inform you of three scholarships that nursing students across Iowa are eligible to receive. One recipient will be chosen for each of the three, $500 scholarships.
The Dr. Carolyn Pauling Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Carolyn Pauling, an accomplished nurse educator, mentor, and advocate for nursing students. As a graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing, Dr. Pauling earned both her Master's and Ph.D. in Nursing Education and dedicated her career to inspiring future nurses through teaching, leadership, and service. As a longtime advisor to the Iowa Association of Nursing Students (IANS), Dr. Pauling was committed to mentoring emerging nursing leaders and supporting their professional growth. This $500 scholarship recognizes nursing students who demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, leadership, service, and compassionate patient care, reflecting the values that defined Dr. Pauling's legacy.
The Breakthrough to Nursing Scholarship is a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Iowa Association of Nursing Students (IANS) to promote nursing diversity. This BTN scholarship is offered to a student who is male, non-white, ethnically diverse, or physically challenged. The student must be a member of IANS and in good standing. Applications will be reviewed by faculty and the recipient will be chosen based on their contributions to nursing professionalism and their academic standing.
The Student-to-Student Scholarship is a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Iowa Association of Nursing Students (IANS) to promote nursing professionalism. This scholarship is offered to any nursing student who is a member of IANS in good standing. Applications will be reviewed by faculty and the recipient will be chosen based on their contributions to nursing professionalism and their academic standing.
All applicants must have a faculty or IANS member letter of recommendation submitted along with their application.
