mackenzie kane, MSN, rn
Mackenzie Kane has been a dedicated nurse since 2010, with a diverse career spanning burn and trauma care, hospice, palliative, and respiratory step-down units, as well as forensic nursing as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. She is a DAISY Award winner and has served as a professor for the University of lowa College of Nursing's BSN program for 10 years. Prior to her nursing career, Mackenzie worked as a substance abuse counselor, conducted research in Huntington's disease, and supported individuals with severe intellectual disabilities and autism. Her experiences as a patient and as a parent of a NICU baby allow her to understand both perspectives-being in the bed and providing care. This unique insight has shaped her compassionate approach to nursing. Mackenzie is passionate about motivating future nurses to deliver empathetic care while prioritizing their own well-being
